This short biography is easy to read and gives a lot of info for the novice.
I learned a few things about George that I didn't know.

Having grown up during the heyday of the "British Invasion," it was fun to look at it again in retrospect. This is a good overview of the Beatles and George's role. For years he was the "quiet" Beatle or the "forgotten" Beatle as he was never as flashy as the other 3 and didn't seem to seek the limelight ad they did. However, his playing and song writing were a big part of their success and some of his songs reman favorites of mine and many others. "Norwegian Wood" and "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" are great! A lot of people didn't know or didn't remember the attempt on his life and his wife saving him. Good book, good read Check it out.

A great book, one that spotlight George Harrison, who little about him I knew. From early school to the return of his cancer, this was a good overview of his life, his successes and even his defeats.
Now I need to spin up his albums, just to see if they play the same.

George Harrison (1943 – 2001) an English musician and singer-songwriter and the lead guitarist of the Beatles. Sometimes called "the quiet Beatle", Harrison embraced Indian culture and helped broaden the scope of popular music. His songs for the group include "Taxman", "Within You Without You", "While My Guitar Gently Weeps", "Here Comes the Sun" and "Something". Harrison's first marriage, to model Pattie Boyd in 1966, ended in divorce in 1977, she ran off with Eric Clapton. The following year he married Olivia Arias, with whom he had a son, Dhani. Harrison died from lung cancer in 2001 at the age of 58. His remains were cremated, and the ashes were scattered according to Hindu tradition in a private ceremony in the Ganges and Yamuna rivers in India. (Wiki)

Buona e piacevole lettura, fa parte di questa collana di storie brevi che illustrano la vita di grandi personaggi. La favolosa vicenda dei Beatles che ha entusiasmato intere generazioni, attraverso le vicende del 'silenzioso' del gruppo.

A very well put together biographical which gives the truth of the Beatles inner struggles from the beginning, to his legacy. Not a fan but an admirer!

1.0 out of 5 stars George Harrison: A Life From Beginning To End

Rattles through the momentous final years of the Beatles from 1966 to 1970 with little insight or analysis. Revolver doesn’t deserve a mention, nor The Magical Mystery tour.

Thereafter fails to mention 6 of his solo albums, merely mentions the concert for Bangladesh in passing, pays no heed to his disastrous US tour of 1974, gives no details at all about The Anthology Project, Handmade Films or his relations with the other ex-Beatles.

Gives us nothing that we haven’t heard before
